3M High Performance Double Coated Tape 9086 features a speciallyformulated acrylic adhesive that delivers very high initial tack and excellent peel and shear performance on a wide range of surfaces and materials. At 3.5 mils per side, the adhesive bonds to smooth, rough or textured surfaces. A 0.5 mil tissue carrier is conformable and handtearable for efficient processing and use.
A HighPerformance Bond for Nearly Any Substrate
Thicker and stickier than traditional tapes, our 3M High Performance Double Coated Tape 9086 (PDF, 1.32 Mb) is suitable for a wide range of materials including paint, stainless steel, glass, foams and a variety of plastics. The adhesive is applied at a thick 3.5 mils on each side of the carrier for good wetout regardless of whether the surface is smooth, rough or textured. The 0.5 mil tissue carrier conforms well to irregular surfaces, and can be torn by hand for easy handling and application. This tape features a white 3.2 mil glassine paper liner which provides easy, efficient release during tape application.
