The Tape Lab's Custom Transdermal Patches
At The Tape Lab, we offer complete custom product development of plant and nutraceutical ingredients formulated into adhesive patches. We can develop scientifically infused plant-based ingredients to bring your ideas to reality in custom transdermal patches. We offer this exceptional development service as part of our white label (private label) program, allowing our clients to create their own custom product.
Development Process:
Our development process starts with a customers idea of the ingredients they want to incorporate into a transdermal patch. Our team consisting of our chemist, operations and engineering will meet with you to dial in the perfect formulation that is fully scalable. As part of our development process we utilize our pilot coater to run a trial of your custom formula and typically we produce 100-150’ of material at 6” wide. We can then take that roll and die cut it to different sizes depending on the intended dosage of ingredients per patch. We will then send our customers the development patches for testing and approval. Once the customer has approved the formula in the patches that formula is owned by the customer and we can move right into production on our larger coating line. Our development process for custom transdermal patches is quick. We typically can go from concept to a pilot run in 3 weeks. Depending on the customer approval process we can then get into production in another 3 weeks. Most of the time the development process to production is under 8 weeks.
Processing and Options for the Patches:
Our transdermal patch manufacturing services encompass a range of capabilities. We offer adhesive coating on three different face stocks: a 3 mil PE translucent film, a 5 mil white PE film, or a 1/32″ white PE foam. Die cutting is available using our existing tooling or custom shapes can be created. We utilize 5-color processing to accommodate any print pattern on the patches and liner. Additionally, we provide pack-out solutions, including pouches or boxes, which are then packed into Master Cartons. With our comprehensive services, we are your one-stop shop for transdermal patch manufacturing.
Typically, our transdermal patches are formulated with dosages of 10mg or 20mg. The 10mg patches measure 1.25″ x 1.35″ in size, while the 20mg patches measure 1.875″ x 1.875″. Our die cutting process allows for the creation of 4 or 6 patches on an extended liner per sheet, which are then packaged into boxes or pouches. Custom shapes and sizes can also be accommodated.
Transdermal Patches from The Tape Lab are formulated with a curated blend of scientifically proven ingredients, carefully selected to be absorbed through the skin. We mix the ingredients into a medical grade Biocompatible acrylic adhesive and coat the adhesive on a face stock of your choice. Here are some of our most common ingredients we use:

Transdermal and Topical Patches act as a transdermal delivery method for administering Botanicals and Vitamins through the skin in the form of an adhesive patch. The Botanicals or Vitamins (in the form of oils or powder) is compounded into the adhesives and made into a “tape” that is then die cut by The Tape Lab into individual patches for dosing.
Generally, patch users will start to feel the effects of the patch within the first 20 minutes of applying the patch.
